Visit the reuse shops at household recycling centres
You can donate items at the recycling centres, or visit them to pick up a bargain.
All ten household recycling centres will accept items for donation to the South Bucks Hospice shops at Aston Clinton and High Wycombe.
The top 10 items the shops need
The shops are always keen to receive donations of:
- branded hoovers (for example Dyson, Henry or Shark)
- flat screen televisions and laptop computers
- power tools
- bikes (all sizes, past their best or even parts of bikes)
- assembled furniture (for example chest of drawers, desks, mirrors)
- outdoor furniture (for example chairs and tables)
- garden items (for example barbecues, garden tools, plant pots and ornaments)
- children's toys (for example action figures, board games, ride-ons, dolls houses:
- all toys need to have the CE safety label
- antiques (for example train sets, memorabilia, and chests or trunks)
- musical instruments
Before you donate
Not all items are suitable for donating to reuse, so it's always best to check with a member of staff. For example the shop staff cannot repair or clean items so anything donated needs to be in good working order.
Some items need to have the correct Safety Standards available to check.
Who your donations benefit
By donating items for reuse you will be:
- preventing carbon emissions (associated with producing and distributing new items)
- reducing disposal costs for the Council
- improving recycling performance
- helping generate funds for South Bucks Hospice.
